Castlerigg Stones

Recently we’ve been playing a lot with the Pix4d app on the iPhone; it's addictive, and now starting to see the creative possibilities of using it. Last week we were out filming in Cumbria; on the return journey, I jumped out and, within 15 minutes, scanned half of Castlerigg Stones; id have done all of it, but it was pretty busy. The renders below are rough and straight from the render engine, with no post. We added elements such as grass and flowers to bring it to life. The possibilities for non-invasive historical perseveration are fantastic; showing sites now and thousands of years back, we plan on producing a case study scanning cultural pieces across the UK, with the next stop taking this into VR.
